
The green CSCS card is the standard qualification for labourers to work on UK construction sites. Whilst it’s not a legal requirement to hold a cscs card to work on site having trained and competent employees is a legal requirement.
The CSCS card system is an easy way for employers to ensure that their staff meet this requirement.
You can achieve a green CSCS card by completing 1 day CITB Health and Safety Awareness (HSA)
You also need to achieve a pass mark on the CITB health, safety and environment test carried out at a Pearson center.
Once got have passed both courses you can apply for your green CSCS card and get to work.
This course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:
- The need to prevent accidents
- Health and safety law
- How your role fits into the control and management of the site
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Performing safely and asking for advice
- How to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
- How to recognise hazards and minimise risks during high risk activity such as work at height, excavations and confined spaces.
How to work safely around plant & heavy machinery.
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.
This course is one of the requirements to apply for the green Labourers CSCS card.
This course is a 1 day training session 7.5 hours either classroom based or can be carried out remotely via Zoom.
